notesminder

There is a free program that used to be installed with notes - not sure if it still is - called "Notes Minder". If all you want your notes for is new mail popups and minimie to the systray otherwise, this is what you're looking for. Look under Start>Programs>Lotus Applications. Put that in your windows startup.

If your company is really using all the powers of notes, then not having it open all day would be a pain, though!
